Frequently asked questions about donating to Combined Jewish Philanthropies
Yes, your donation may be tax-deductible! Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, Inc. is a tax-exempt public charity. Our EIN number is 04-2103559. Please consult your personal tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your gift.
We’ll email you a receipt upon successful completion of your donation. Keep this email as official record of your donation.
Check the box that says “Dedicate my donation in honor or in memory of someone” on our donation form. Once you do, you can add their name and send a card.
Please ask your financial advisor to notify us before transferring securities. Gifts of stock arrive without identifying information about the donor or brokerage firm, and we often receive multiple transfers of the same security on the same day. To ensure your gift is properly credited, please include the name of the security, the number of shares, and the intended designation.

If your company is not part of CJP’s matching gift program, follow these four steps:
1.Check with your company’s HR department to see if a matching gift program exists.
2.Ask HR for a copy of the Matching Gift Form and complete your portion.

Checks and year-end tax planning
As long as your check is postmarked on or before December 31, it will be considered a gift that year. This is true even if we don’t receive or cash it by the year’s end. Keep this in mind for year-end tax planning!
